Tablet PC Replacement Program
Spring 2014-2015
Teachers: Are you using an older Fujitsu convertible tablet computer, and would you like to upgrade to a newer machine? Great!--we have some options for you. First, we need to know the ways that you use your computer to facilitate instruction, what your technology intentions are for the near future, and if you are ready to take the Windows 8 plunge. The survey below will help us determine the type of computer you need to have available to facilitate instruction. Please read this entire page before clicking on available hyperlinks below.

Considering your responses to the survey questions, please let us know your intentions for continued instructional technology integration using a convertible tablet computer. Pick one of two upgrade options:
Upgrade to a Dell XT3 Windows 7 convertible tablet computer. Show your colleagues how you are committed to integrating technology into your instruction by contributing to a new BCPS online database of high quality technology integration lesson plans. The lesson plan will detail one of your successful classroom session(s) where technology integration had a significant positive impact on student learning. The lesson plan option will take a couple of hours to complete. There are limited numbers of these machines available.

Upgrade to a Windows 8 convertible tablet computer. Show your colleagues how you are committed to integrating technology into your instruction by contributing to a new BCPS online database of high quality technology integration lesson plans. The lesson plan will detail one of your successful classroom session(s) where technology integration had a significant positive impact on student learning. The lesson plan option will take a couple of hours to complete. You will also need to participate in a couple of 2-hour workshops to familiarize yourself with the new machine, operating system, etc. There are limited numbers of these machines available.
Please contact your school ITRT regarding the lesson plan you are thinking to add to the lesson plan database. We are looking for detailed "tried and true" high quality lesson plans you have used in your classroom. The lesson plan should have digital resources linked or attached. Your school ITRT will be able to assist you as you work through this process--please immediately contact your school ITRT about your plans.
Of course, there are limited funds and limited resources with our upgrade project. There are a number of teachers who are eligible for the upgrade, and equipment will be distributed as it becomes available. As existing upgrade resources are used up, the program will end for the current school year--although you will continue to be eligible as new upgrades are available. Currently, any teacher using a Fujitsu tablet PC (4410, 5010, 900 and 901 models) may participate in the upgrade project.
