How often do you use the following with your Tablet PC?

Multiple Times Per Day Weekly Monthly
  12345Rarely
Outlook
Word
Excel
PowerPoint
Publisher
OneNote
Internet Browsing
Other (please describe in Comment field below)

Please detail how you have used your tablet PC during instruction in the last two weeks.  Subjects/topics/software/activities/etc...  Are you at your desk/podium/moving around classroom/etc.

In preschool, I do not use it that often during instruction. This is because most of the instruction is done in small groups or one to one using real objects. I have used it during large group instruction by projecting a selection from Youtube on the screen or showing a power point. I have also used the PC during Handwriting Without Tears instruction to allow the children to form the letters with the stylus and see them on the screen. Our attendance and observation records are computer programs that are used daily.

Please detail your use of the stylus and/or touchscreen of your tablet PC in the last two weeks.  What subjects, software, activities, etc.  Is a touchscreen acceptable, or do you need an active stylus for precision writing?

I have used the stylus in the way I described above. I don't have a touch screen, although every other Head Start classroom has a Smart Board. I think if I had those capabilities, there would be quite a few activities that I could use.

To what new/newer computer would you prefer to upgrade?

Windows 7 or 8

I prefer this screen size:

Don't care

How will you use technology differently when we upgrade your computer?

I am trying to use more technology in the classroom, so when I have been trained on the new upgrade, I will be able to research new tools for preschoolers.

What kind of assistance would you like to have from your school instructional technology resource teacher?

I need a lot of training now, so I would still need that plus extra help learning a new upgrade.

I just went to a National Early Childhood Conference (NAEYC) and I saw the most amazing table top iPad type thing. Four children could play on the touch table top, using game "pieces" that had their pictures on them. There was also a built in microphone, so the teacher could take observations without even being there!
