Graphic organizer that enables students to list 3 facts and the conclusion that they can draw from them. Document found in shared documents.
  
In this lesson, students in grades K-2 learn to use the 3-2-1 strategy, which involves writing about three things they discovered, two things they found interesting, and one question they still have. After teacher modeling, students read a magazine article independently and use the 3-2-1 strategy to comprehend what they read. This strategy can be adapted and used with older students as well.

An anticipation guide is a comprehension strategy that is used before reading to activate students' prior knowledge, build curiosity about a new topic, and set a purpose for reading.

A concept sort is a vocabulary and comprehension strategy used to familiarize students with the vocabulary of a new topic or book. Teachers provide students with a list of terms or concepts from reading material. Students place words into different categories based on each word's meaning.
