Mr. C's Class > Meet Mr. C

I was born and raised in good ol’ Covington, VA.  Throughout grade-school I played a lot of baseball, a little basketball, and a teeny bit of football.  I also collected a pile of baseball cards and GI Joes.   Once in high school, I joined the band, where I eventually became drum captain.  I also sang in the Madrigals choir.  Outside of school, I skateboarded and played guitar in the band Malfunction.

After graduation, I received my associate’s degree in Electronics and Computer Technology.  I didn’t feel ready for engineering and looked for other options.  Eeny, meeny, miny, moe...elementary education.  I got started in the program at ODU and was quickly placed in the elementary and intermediate schools of Covington.  I loved it.  The rest is history…literally!

I have a master’s degree in elementary ed and am in my fifteenth year of teaching. I love history and math and I love my job. When I’m not teaching, I’m spending time with my beautiful wife, Jennie, playing with our dogs, Yuri, Carli, Margo, and Buster or practicing and playing shows with my band Dan Yell Sun.
