Please detail how you have used your tablet PC during instruction in the last two weeks. Subjects/topics/software/activities/etc... Are you at your desk/podium/moving around classroom/etc.

I use my tablet daily to connect to our classroom SMARTboard. My students receive math, science and history instruction using technology. We visit several differnt websites for instuction and use activities that were downloaded for the SMARTboard. We also use assorted software for number recognition and patterning and sequencing. During SMARTboard instruction my computer stays connected but I'm up moving around interacting with students. I move my computer to my desk during non-SMARTboard times.

Please detail your use of the stylus and/or touchscreen of your tablet PC in the last two weeks. What subjects, software, activities, etc. Is a touchscreen acceptable, or do you need an active stylus for precision writing?

I was asked to give my stylus to a teacher at MES when I received the SMARTboard so I have not used the touch screen capability on my tablet.

To what new/newer computer would you prefer to upgrade?

Windows 8

How will you use technology differently when we upgrade your computer?

My use of technology will probably remain the same. But...I use technology quite a bit in my classroom and I'm very willing to try anything new that makes reaching my students easier and more inviting for them.

What kind of assistance would you like to have from your school instructional technology resource teacher?

I will need assistance with learning Windows 8 and will need to have SMARTboard software installed on the new computer. I also would love to learn how to create my own SMARTboard activities or to alter ones that I've found on the SMARTboard website.
