Please detail how you have used your tablet PC during instruction in the last two weeks. Subjects/topics/software/activities/etc... Are you at your desk/podium/moving around classroom/etc.
I used the tablet to share content info from the internet related to a reading/writing project. A student used it to edit/revise their writing. For Kindergarten, I put a poem on the screen for them to read and practice voice print match, where I could hightlight words for them to read. Currently I have the computer attached to the port replicator because I have to be wired to use my projector, but other times it goes with me to my table where I work with the students.
Please detail your use of the stylus and/or touchscreen of your tablet PC in the last two weeks. What subjects, software, activities, etc. Is a touchscreen acceptable, or do you need an active stylus for precision writing?
I have not used the touchscreen lately-mostly because I have to be wired for screen use...but also the stylus/touchscreen are not as user-friendly because the stylus is 'off target' when writing.
To what new/newer computer would you prefer to upgrade?
Windows 8
I prefer this screen size:
13 - 13.3
How will you use technology differently when we upgrade your computer?
I hope to be able to use it a lot more with my new projector that will enable the students to not only touch the computer screen but the whiteboard as well. I have purchased new software (spelling, graphic organizers, etc.) for this purpose.
What kind of assistance would you like to have from your school instructional technology resource teacher?
I would like to have initial help with using Windows 8, and with the new projector/whiteboard. I also would like help with ideas/ways to increase student involvement including, and in addition to, OneNote.
Comments
I have been using a software for graphic organizers, but not as much as I will when I can have the students use the whiteboard. I also use computer 'games' for working with math students, or some specific reading skills.
