Mike Keyser, the CEO of BARC, the local electric cooperative, visited Mertz to see the progress the students were making on their wind powered electric generator for a KidWind Competition at Virginia Tech. Mr. Keyser answered students' questions about electricity, asked the students questions about the design of the generator and gave some suggestions as to how we might improve our entry. We appreciate the opportunity to work with businesses in the community to improve our students' job skills.
