Mertz Career and Technical Education Students Win Competitions
Recently, Mertz Career and Technical Education students have excelled in competitions across the state. FBLA students brought home honors from the FBLA State Leadership Conference in Reston, Virginia on April 10-11 after having success at the Virginia Western Community College Regional competition. FCCLA students brought home scholarships and awards from the FCCLA Leadership Conference and STAR Events. Technical Education, Electricity, and Carpentry students collaborated together to form a design team that won Judge’s recognition at the KidWind Eastern U.S. Regionals for an exceptional solution to the challenge of designing a wind powered turbine to generate electricity. All of the staff and students at Mertz have worked hard to showcase our talents and to prove that being a small school is not a hindrance to achieving excellence.
