New Valley Principal

Please welcome Kevin Kendall as the new principal at Valley Elementary School.  Kevin comes to Bath County from Lexington City Schools where he has served as a teacher and K-8 gifted coordinator for ten years.  His prior education experience includes serving as a middle school English teacher and gifted education specialist in Hampton City Schools for eight years.  He was also a varsity soccer coach at Bethel High School. 

Mr. Kendall has also taught summer classes at Summer Teacher Institutes at Dabney S. Lancaster Community College and at the Center for Gifted Education at the College of William and Mary.

Mr. Kendall graduated from high school in Shoreham, New York and holds a Bachelor of Art degree in English and Journalism from the University of Richmond and a Master of Art degree in English from the University of Florida.  He holds Education Specialist degrees in Curriculum and Instruction (University of Florida) and Administration and Supervision (University of Virginia).

Mr. Kendall describes himself as a servant leader and he looks forward to working with the Valley students, staff, and parents.  He and his family plan to take an active part in Bath County community events.  He and his wife Carolyn have three children: Kyle, 12, Brian, 10, and Lydia, 8. 

He comes to Bath with praise and high recommendations from his past and present superintendents and colleagues.
