BCHS Security System Now Fully Functional

Body

Bath County High School’s new security system is now fully functional. The most obvious change for students and visitors is that the school’s front entrance is now locked during the school day. Persons needing to enter the building during school hours must now press a doorbell tab on the controller that is mounted on the wall to the right of the doors. An office attendant will respond to the doorbell prompt, unlocking the door closest to the door controller. The lower atrium doors and courtyard handicap entrance have similar devices, although they are located to the left of the doors. Security cameras have also been installed throughout the school campus. The security system was funded by the board of supervisors as a Capital Improvement Plan project for 2012-13.
