The staff at the BCPS Central Office joined in the local tourism "Hay Fever" promotion with their depiction of the popular 50's & 60's single "Autumn Leaves," recorded by many artists through the years. The melancholy lyrics speak to a summer romance cut short by the approach of "falling leaves of red and gold." The original 1945 French song "Les Feuilles Mortes" was developed with English lyrics a couple of years later, and then made famous by artists including Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Andy Williams and many others. Standing the test of time, many current performers such as Eric Clapton have recorded the love song; the original French lyrics were recently recorded by classical artist Andrea Bocelli.
